NFL Conference Championship Day!

MLB

Before we jump into the fun of the NFL Championship, a more somber tone is required.  Yordano Ventura, RHP for the Kansas City Royals, died today in a car crash in the Dominican Republic. What a tragic loss with a life cut so short! My prayers go out to his family. In an unrelated incident, former MLB player Andy Marte, also a Dominican Republic native, died in a car accident early Sunday morning. LORD, please wrap Your arms of comfort around these grieving families searching for answers and feeling a deep emptiness in their hearts.

NFL Conference Championships

NFC
Packers at Falcons - Stephen A. Smith's BAAAAAD man is hot right now. Georgia Dome will be rocking the red tonight.

AFC
Steelers at Patriots - I am glad the jerk who pulled the fire alarm at the Steelers' players hotel was apprehended. That is not the way to encourage your team to win the game. Classless clown.

Aaron Rodgers and the Killer Bees

NFL Divisional Playoffs

I wanted to predict both games' results correctly yesterday, but those rascally Green Bay Packers led by future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers ruined my plans. I feel nothing but pride for my Dallas Cowboys with our new QB Dak Prescott and incredible running back Ezekiel Elliott. Next year, 'Boys, next year. We will finish the fight. I was right about Pittsburgh winning last night. Those Killer Bees were just too much to handle: Big Ben, Antonio Brown, LeVeon Bell, and Chris Boswell. The kicker. Made all of the points last night. Touch down fail. ESPN writer Jeremy Fowler stated that "the Steelers were practically allergic to scoring touchdowns" in Sunday's game. Sigh. This brings me to my next point.

First Take on ESPN

I really do not want to listen to Stephen A. Smith's joy and happiness about Aaron Rodgers, the Dallas Cowboys, the Pittsburgh Steelers, or anything else for that matter; however, I will take my medicine. Yergh.

Divisional Playoffs

I was not too busted up to see the Seahawks sent home packing by the Atlanta Falcons when I checked the final score of the game. I expected the Patriots to win last night's game, too. The Houston Texans must solve the QB riddle of Brock Osweiler and Tom Savage or the next great thing. I doubt they would get anywhere near Clemon's Deshaun Watson who is heading into the draft in a few months. Just forget about it!

Sunday's Picks

Green Bay Packers at Dallas Cowboys - feed Zeke!
Pittsburgh Steelers at Kansas City Chiefs

Happy New Year! - 2017 Edition

Good morning and happy new year to one and all, sports fans! Well, we have a rematch in the college football championship with the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Clemson Tigers. I was right on three out of four bowl games yesterday.

  1. LSU vs. Louisville
  2. Alabama vs. Washington
  3. Kentucky vs. Georgia Tech
  4. Ohio State University vs. Clemson

If I have my act together, I'll post my predictions for Monday's bowl games. Would you believe I have to work tomorrow and must keep up with updates for the early game via my ESPN app? It's all good.

NFL

Today is the last regular season day for the NFL. It's been a while since I made my picks public. Here they are.

  1. Baltimore at Cincinnati
  2. Houston at Tennessee
  3. Carolina at Tampa Bay
  4. Jacksonville at Indianapolis
  5. New England at Miami - I did not even think about this pick.
  6. Chicago at Minnesota
  7. Buffalo at NY Jets - No more Ryans? Perhaps, Todd Bowles will have a good day after all.
  8. Dallas at Philadelphia - I sincerely hope that Tony Romo does not take a snap during this game. It is meaningless, pointless, and dangerous. 'Nuff said. A Yellow Flag of Shame if he gets out there. An entire blanket if he gets hurt if they foolishly place him in harm's way with an Eagle defense that has nothing to lose.
  9. Cleveland at Pittsburgh - I am glad the Browns won last week. This week would not be theirs.
  10. New Orleans at Atlanta
  11. NY Giants at Washington
  12. Arizona at LA Rams - Cardinals salvage some pride and whip up on the Fisher-less Rams.
  13. Oakland at Denver
  14. Kansas City at San Diego - why did Peck's Bad Boy NEVER have the personnel needed? I love Philip Rivers, but it's another no-go season. Sigh.
  15. Seattle at San Francisco - I will NEVER pick the 49ers or any other team with Colin K. on it.
  16. Green Bay at Detroit - The Pack is back.
